The Ecological Candle Co. was born in November 2005 with one simple mission. To provide a healthy alternative to petroleum based paraffin and heavily fragranced candles that saturate the marketplace today. We believed there were many folks similar to us who wanted to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of candles without subjecting themselves to harsh chemical additives and toxic soot.

We were right. More people are becoming educated about the relationship between chronic illness and indoor air quailty. Burning petroleum based paraffin candles saturated with synthetic additives and fragrance is becoming more of a concern, especially amongst those of us with small children.

We know you work hard to protect yourself and your family from harm. Why should you have to worry about hazardous air pollution emitted from a candle? You shouldn't and that is why we developed our company and Our Purity Pledge.

The Ecological Candle Co. is also guided by a deep sense of responsibility to our environment. Every decision is made with environmental impact in mind. Every business creates an impact and we strive to minimize ours. Our labels are printed using soy ink. Our soy wax is biodegradable and free of pesticides. All of our products are recyclable and reusable. Our wicks are unbleached cotton and our packing peanuts are made from corn starch. This is just the beginning however. As we continue to grow, we are constantly developing new ideas to ensure we are leading the way in the sustainable candle industry.
